Levitt
Levitt
was found as a stray in Katy, Texas. He was picked up and taken to a
couples home. They tried to find his owners for a month and while he was
in their care, they had him vaccinated and started on heartworm preventative.
After a month, they gave him to a K-9 officer who also owns a dog boarding
kennel to see if he could be trained for Search and Rescue since he was
constantly tracking scents.
After several weeks of working with Levitt, the officer could not find his
"motivation" to reward with for training, so they contacted Weimaraner
Rescue of North Texas. I picked Levitt up and fostered him in my home.
Levitt was extremely thin with all ribs visible, but was otherwise a very
happy guy. Levitt had exceptional manners and immediately got along well
with my female Weimaraner and my 4 year old daughter. He was curious about
my cat, but never aggressive towards him. Levitt had obviously had quite a
bit of obedience training and was crate trained. He was my first foster
and it was a pleasant surprise that he could walk into our house and fit in as
if he had been raised here since he was a puppy.
Levitt
stayed with us for about 2 months. The first month was basically spent
getting weight on him so that he could safely be neutered. After he was
neutered, we started the interview process to find him a new home. We
found him the perfect home with a family with two children and two cats. He
is doing very well in his new home.
