How to become a Transport Volunteer and why...

Click HERE to volunteer for the WRR!

my_boys.jpg (21194 bytes)We are always in need of transport volunteers to pick up a Weim and help transport them for a leg of the relay to their new home.  We have a list of people all across the country who are willing to drive an hour or more to the next pick-up point.  But...  we always need more help.

If you can help out from time to time and would like to be on the call list for your area,  send us an e-mail and we'll put you on the list.  Only regional coordinators will have access to your contact information for privacy reasons.  Let us know how to get a hold of you,  where you live,  routes you are willing to drive,  how often and when (weekends,  anytime,  full moons...).  The WRR is essentially "Rescue Light",  since it does not require much time,  money or commitment.  If you can dedicate yourself more to the cause of rescue through fostering,  etc.,  please also volunteer with the club nearest you.

rainyday.jpg (10990 bytes)Also,  if you periodically plan to drive across country and would like company for longer trips,  check in with our coordinators along the route ahead of time and there just might be a needy dog who can share the ride for all,  or part of your trip.

Other ways to assist:
On some longer trips,  the dog must spend the night with someone along the route.  Let us know if you would be willing to house a dog in such a situation.  Also,  let us know if you have any evaluation experience,  or would be willing to pick up an unknown Weim from a shelter and bring him/her to your local rescue organization.
